Taras Lozynskyi is a tourism manager, regional development expert, and specialist in international cooperation and accessibility. In July 2025, he was appointed First Deputy Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine.

In his current role, Taras oversees accessibility policy, domestic tourism, and the decentralized development of tourism products. He also works on strengthening regional tourism route networks and implementing modern approaches to promoting Ukraine’s national tourism offering.

Professional background

From March to July 2025, Taras served as Deputy Director of the Department and Head of the Tourism and Resorts Division at the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration. He coordinated the international project Interreg Europe “Jewels Tours”, which focused on developing routes based on Jewish cultural heritage. He also organized a series of business tours and tourism events aimed at supporting community development in the Lviv region.

Between 2023 and 2025, he was Acting Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Lviv Regional Administration. During this time, he implemented a number of social tourism and mental recovery initiatives, including the “Travel Therapy” project for veterans. He also introduced various accessibility-focused innovations — from producing an educational video course on the Diia platform to installing tactile mini-sculptures and launching virtual tours. Among his achievements was the development of a branding strategy positioning the Sheptytskyi community as the street art capital of the region. Under his leadership, a video blog series “In Focus” was launched, and the long-distance hiking trail “Along the Verkhovyna Watershed Ridge” was developed.

From 2018 to 2023, Taras held managerial positions in the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Lviv Regional Administration. He initiated the creation of a regional registry of tourist routes and implemented several cycling and hiking trail projects, including those in the Skole Beskids National Park and the Domazhyr Bear Sanctuary. He contributed to the cross-border project “The World of the Carpathian Rosettes”, launched the bilingual tourism app “LvivRegion&GO”, and represented the Lviv region at various international exhibitions and forums.

Education

Taras holds a Master's degree in Political Science from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He also earned a specialist degree in Law from the Institute of Postgraduate and Pre-University Education, and later obtained a second Master’s degree in Culture and Sports from the Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

He is committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. Taras is a certified trainer of educational programs in the tourism field; a graduate of training programs organized by the Ukrainian Catholic University, the British Council, the Association of Ukrainian Cities, and Poland’s “Study Visits to Gdynia” initiative; and the author and coordinator of more than 20 implemented tourism development projects in the Lviv region. He is also a judo coach at the Lviv Youth Sports School “Olimpiya” and holds the title of Master of Sport of Ukraine in judo.

He is a dedicated judoka, an avid runner, and a fan of active recreation — from hiking and cycling to kayaking and skiing. Taras considers travel and exploring new places an essential part of his life.
