The Ukrainian delegation has begun its work at the international tourism exhibition in Riga under the slogan: "Let’s Plan Ukraine."
This year, Ukraine is being promoted by: the Tourism and Promotion Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, the Department of City Marketing and Tourism, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, the Lviv Tourism Office, the Association of Incoming Tour Operators of Ukraine, Trade House Ukraina, and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Visitors and exhibition participants are approaching the Ukrainian stand to express their support and solidarity, sharing their profound admiration for the Ukrainian people. They look at photos of Ukrainian landscapes with great interest and promise to visit in the future. They are—truly—planning Ukraine.
"To be honest: right now, we are not ready to invite foreign travelers for mass tourism. The war continues. But even in these difficult times, Ukraine has not lost its hospitality or its high level of service. Moreover, we want to share the culture and identity we are fighting for. Our philosophy today is 'Solidarity Tourism.' We are open to those who want to support Ukraine by visiting Ukrainian businesses, learning our history, and helping us rebuild the country," noted Taras Lozynskyi, First Deputy Chairperson of the State Agency for Tourism Development (SATD), in his speech.
To meet the Ukrainian delegation at the Balttour 2026 fair, the Minister of Economics of the Republic of Latvia, Viktors Valainis, and the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in Latvia, Yurii Zakharchuk, visited the stand. They expressed their solidarity and readiness to support Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation also met with representatives of the Latvian national airline, airBaltic. They discussed potential cooperation and the resumption of flights as soon as the security situation in Ukraine stabilizes and it becomes possible.
The SATD expresses its gratitude for the assistance provided by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia and our friends at Četri ceļo gardi for their support.
The exhibition will run until February 8th. Stay tuned—there is much more to come.
