GovTech Lab Ukraine announces an open competition for startups and IT companies

The open innovation program GovTech Lab Ukraine has launched a competition for startups and IT companies that can propose innovative solutions in the field of public services. Selected teams will receive:

• up to €150,000 for pilot implementation;
  
  
• access to government institutions and direct interaction with officials;
  
  
• visibility within the global GovTech community;
  
  
• support in testing, scaling, and implementing their solutions.

The State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine (SATD), together with GovTech Lab Ukraine, invites teams to work on a large-scale upgrade of the Unified Tourism Register (UTR) — an important step toward effective tourism management in Ukraine and new opportunities for businesses and communities.

Currently, the UTR functions only as a nominal database of categorized hotels and licensed tour operators. At the same time, it does not ensure proper statistical collection, while a significant share of the tourism sector remains in the “shadow.” That is why the modernization of the register is key to transparency and sector growth.

SATD aims to transform the register into a modern analytical and management system that will:

• reflect the real state of the tourism industry;
  
  
• reduce the administrative burden on businesses;
  
  
• ensure transparency and fair competition;
  
  
• help communities increase tourism revenues several times over;
  
  
• improve service quality and the overall tourism product for travelers.
